THE FLAG The Union Jack is dominated by the Scottish connection, which is responsible both for the white, diagonal St Andrew’s cross and the blue background. Yet Wales is not represented. Logically, Wales’ yellow cross of St David should join the red horizontal and vertical of St George and red diagonal of St Patrick on an English white background.
