But three years later the fourth-generation heir-apparent was call­ed back by the management team, which was still dominated by family members, to run the struggling business.

星野佳路(Yoshiharu Hoshino,見上圖)的家族經營酒店業已有百年曆史。星野佳路以現代化理念改革家族企業的首次嘗試以失敗告終,導致他在接班6個月後就被開除。但在3年後,作爲家族企業不言而喻的第四代繼承人,星野佳路被管理層召回。當時,家族企業管理層仍以家族成員爲主,企業經營已陷入困境。
