Didi Chuxing announces JV with BAIC over new energy vehicles

Didi Chuxing, the Chinese ride-hailing app, has announced a joint venture with a unit of carmaker BAIC to collaborate on new energy vehicle fleets and artificial intelligence.

The ride-hailing app said on Monday it had formed a joint venture with Beijing Electric Vehicle Co, a BAIC affiliate also known as Jingju, which claims to be China’s largest EV maker.

The companies will work together on “new energy fleet operation and AI transportation solutions to develop next-generation connected-car systems”.
