Singapore bids farewell to Lee Kuan Yew
Singapore bade farewell to its founding prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, on Sunday in an outpouring of public grief, as the country’s leaders and foreign dignitaries attended a modest funeral service after six days of mourning.
“The light that has guided us all these years has been extinguished,” his son, and current prime minister Lee Hsien Loong, told a packed auditorium at the National University of Singapore.
