Britain’s Serious Fraud Office has launched a criminal inquiry into GlaxoSmithKline less than two weeks after the drugmaker was accused of “massive and systemic bribery” in China.
The UK group said it had been notified on Tuesday that the SFO had “opened a formal criminal investigation into the group’s commercial practices”. The SFO confirmed the move.
GSK gave no further details but said it would co-operate fully.
