Central banks start mixing up their reserves

Polish and Mexican short term borrowing costs hit a record low this week, at least partly driven by quiet but significant purchases by central bank reserve managers in Asia, investors say.

Central banks are generally regarded as among the most conservative investors, yet many have started diversifying their reserves into a new asset class – emerging market bonds.
