Jesse Wilson: ‘I’ve always had that entrepreneurial itch’

Jubel drinks group founder got the idea for a fruit-flavoured lager while on a ski trip in France

In 2018, Jesse Wilson left his corporate job and poured all his savings into creating a fruity lager, bringing to life an idea sparked on a university ski trip in 2015. In the early years of Jubel, Wilson spent evenings and weekends learning how to brew beer and selling it at events and festivals.

Seven years on, Jubel’s best-known beer, a peach-flavoured lager, is on tap in more than 1,000 pubs across the country and cans are available in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.

In 2024, Jubel recorded a 94 per cent sales growth and secured a listing in the well-known pub chain Young’s, as demand for the range of peach, mango, elderflower, blood orange, lemon, and grapefruit beers remains high among Gen Z.
