Snap AV: nice quarter guys and girls

S&P 500 earnings are beating estimates at a record rate.

When former Deutsche Bank chief economist and chartmaster Torsten Slok left the German bank for the well-compensated comforts of private equity titan Apollo Global Management, FT Alphaville felt a bit bereft. After all, Slok’s daily charts had been a good source of posts during our time on these hallowed pink pixels, so he left a rather large data-shaped hole in our lives.

The pain didn’t last long, however. Deutsche Bank’s Jim Reid swiftly took up the mantle on top of his must-read morning macro note, Early Morning Reid, and has been delivering quality content ever since.

His one this Monday, which landed in our inboxes a few moments ago, is no exception and ties in with a theme that we touched on last week when we commented on the unusually high revenue growth of the US mega cap tech stocks. Here’s the chart:
