Carlos Ghosn has been banned from leaving Lebanon and Japanese prosecutors have accused the former Nissan chairman of tampering with evidence.
A judge in Beirut, acting on an Interpol red notice, imposed the ban yesterday, the day after Mr Ghosn, who jumped bail in Tokyo last month, criticised the Japanese judicial system and former Nissan colleagues.
In his first public remarks since his November 2018 arrest, Mr Ghosn protested his innocence and said he had chosen the life of a fugitive in part because of bail conditions that banned him from seeing his wife, Carole.
