North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has claimed for the first time that Pyongyang has developed a hydrogen bomb, drawing a sceptical response from analysts.
With international talks on its weapons programmes stalled since 2012, North Korea has been pushing ahead with nuclear development in defiance of UN sanctions, while drawing foreign attention with increasingly bold claims about its capabilities.
The latest of these came yesterday, when the official Korea Central News Agency reported remarks by Mr Kim during a visit to an arms factory the previous day.
