Tsuneo Kita, chief executive officer of Nikkei group, vowed to protect the editorial independence of the Financial Times, a day after it acquired the news organisation from Pearson for £844m.
"Let us be clear that the editorial independence will be maintained," Mr Kita said at a news conference in Tokyo on Friday, reports Kana Inagaki.
"We do not want to change the management and reporting style of the FT. FT will remain as FT."
