Hong Kong has come up with a novel way to deal with the rising costs of an ageing population and a shortage of land: export some of its elderly across the border to mainland China.
The Chinese territory is not alone in looking at ways to deal with a problem that is taxing governments across Asia from Japan to Singapore, South Korea and mainland China itself.
But its partial solution comes against a backdrop of growing hostility between the people of Hong Kong and their close neighbours.
