The trial of Bo Xilai ended on Monday with prosecutors demanding “severe punishment” of the fallen Chinese politician who is accused of corruption, embezzlement and abuse of power.
The court said it would issue a verdict, in what has become the most significant trial in China in decades, at a later date.
Prosecutors on Monday said Mr Bo’s defiance in court had disqualified him from leniency, in an indication that a light sentence of under 20 years in prison, earlier expected by some legal observers, is very unlikely.
