Global business executives remain cautiously optimistic that the world economy will improve in the months ahead, according to the FT/Economist Global Business Barometer survey.
Though fears of a financial meltdown in the eurozone have eased, data have clouded the outlook for global trade in the second quarter . Executives are still optimistic, however, that conditions will become more favourable over the next six months, both for the global economy and in their own industries.
Of the 1,600 people polled, 27 per cent expected conditions to improve, against 21 per cent who expected the outlook to worsen. The rest thought conditions would stay the same.
