Eight badminton players accused of throwing matches at the Olympics have been disqualified from the games.
The players, from China, South Korea and Indonesia faced a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday morning after being charged with playing to lose at the Olympics.
The Badminton World Federation disqualified the players for “not using one’s best efforts to win a match” and “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport”.
