White House weighs helping women cross state lines to access abortions

Possible move comes in response to draconian bans being rolled out in conservative US states

The White House is exploring ways to help women who need to travel across state lines to end a pregnancy, ramping up its response to draconian abortion bans being rolled out in conservative states across the US.

The potential plan comes after last Friday’s Supreme Court ruling, which struck down the Roe vs Wade precedent and erased the constitutional right to an abortion in America.

The opinion led to the immediate end of abortion procedures at clinics in several states, forcing patients to scramble to find alternatives, including travelling away from their home states for medical help.
