Barr to step down as attorney-general after attacks from Trump

Resignation comes after president criticises top government lawyer as ‘big disappointment’

William Barr has announced he is resigning as US attorney-general, just weeks after he said he had found no evidence of the widespread election irregularities claimed by outgoing president Donald Trump.
