The international row over threatened US tariffs on steel imports is “bad” for President Donald Trump’s efforts to secure a landmark nuclear deal with North Korea, a top official from Seoul has warned.
Kang Kyung-wha, South Korea’s foreign minister — a leading world steel exporter — branded Washington’s trade move “unhelpful” and “not something that the US should be doing to a security ally”.
“The timing is bad, the measure is bad for the US and Korea going together on the North Korean nuclear issue,” she said in Brussels.
