Amazon customers who trust the company enough to let its staff walk into their kitchens and living rooms while they are out will soon be able to try its new in-home delivery service.
Amazon said yesterday it would launch its new Key service and an accompanying internet-connected security camera in 37 US cities on November 8, with ambitions to grow beyond that in the coming months.
The Key system is designed to stem the ecommerce industry’s increasingly serious problem of packages being stolen from doorsteps, when their intended recipients are not home to receive a delivery.
