Tesla Motors missed its target for vehicle deliveries last year as fresh production problems at the US electric carmaker slowed its output for several weeks in the final quarter, according to figures released on Tuesday.
News of the latest production setback wiped about 2 per cent from the company’s share price in after-market trading, and comes at the start of make-or-break year in which Tesla has promised to launch its first mass-market vehicle, the Model 3.
Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler made a belated attempt to put itself on the electric vehicle map, as it showed off an all-electric, self-driving minivan at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
