On Monday last week Denis Baupin, deputy speaker of the National Assembly, resigned over such claims. The following day, Michel Sapin, the finance minister, apologised for inappropriate behaviour towards a female journalist.
This time feminists and female politicians have spoken out in greater numbers against what they call pervasive sexism in French public life.
Well, guess what: it is not just French politicians who should be singled out for their sexism. The problem is rife in other fields.
