Walt Disney is reviving the Indiana Jones series with plans to release a fifth movie in 2019 featuring Harrison Ford as the swashbuckling archaeologist.
Rights to the series were included in Disney’s 2012 purchase of Lucasfilm. The four previous Indiana Jones films have generated close to $2bn at global box offices. Steven Spielberg, who directed the other movies, would return for the fifth instalment, Disney said.
Mr Ford would also return to star in the movie although he would be 77 when the new film was released, raising questions about the mobility of the lead character.
