Huawei, the Chinese telecoms equipment maker, reported strong revenue growth, undaunted by a slowing economy at home.
Revenues for the first half of 2015 at the privately held company grew 30 per cent from the same period a year ago — the highest recorded rate of expansion for the period since Huawei began reporting half-year revenue in 2011. The last time it reported comparable growth was 2008, when annual sales revenues rose by a third year on year.
Cathy Meng, chief financial officer, said: “In the first half of 2015, Huawei achieved stable and healthy growth in all of its three business segments.” The company gave no details on what factors were behind the growth.
