Jack Ma has put a brave face on adversity, saying that a US class action lawsuit against the Chinese ecommerce group he founded would help western countries “understand Alibaba’s business better”.
In a speech in Hong Kong on Monday night, Alibaba’s chairman also shed light on a political row last week between his company and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, a Chinese regulator, which criticised the ecommerce group’s business practices.
“We [are] looking for how we can communicate with the rest of the world,” Mr Ma said in the speech.
