Macau gaming revenues hit two-year low

Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao brought a lot of visitors to Macau for his title defence last month, but it appears few of them stopped by the VIP rooms.

Gaming revenues in Macau, the gambling haven and former Portuguese colony near Hong Kong, fell 19.6 per cent in November from a year earlier to 24.269bn Macau patacas ($3bn) see chart below).

The yearly pace of decline is slower than the 23.2 per cent annual fall a month before, but overall gaming revenues were the lowest in two years and 13 per cent down from October.
