Apple has secured Chinese government approval to sell its new iPhone 6 on the eve of the week-long National Day holiday, a peak period for shopping and tourism in the world's second largest economy.
The Ministry of Information Technology announced the approval on its website on Tuesday, saying that the California technology company had addressed its concerns about security and data privacy.
Apple began selling the iPhone 6 in other markets earlier this month, recording 10m sales in its first weekend.
