Apple unveiled two new iPhones at its most anticipated launch event in years, as it looked to larger screens and wearable technology to take on Samsung and recapture Steve Jobs’ spirit of innovation.
Tim Cook, Jobs’ successor as Apple’s chief executive, sought to reclaim momentum with a sweep of new products ranging from wearable gadgets and slimmer iPhones to health-tracking and payment systems.
Speaking at the Flint Center in Apple’s home town of Cupertino, California, where Jobs first unveiled the Macintosh 30 years ago, Mr Cook said it was a “very key day for Apple”.
