A number of fund managers are snapping up Hong Kong-listed companies that would be likely to see their share prices jump if China were to abandon its one-child policy.
Fen Sung, manager of the £10m Premier China Enterprise fund, has taken a 2 per cent stake in both Prince Frog International, which manufactures children’s shampoos and moisturisers, and Vinda, which produces nappies and pocket tissues for children, in the hope their revenues will soar if the restriction is lifted.
“I think both of these companies would certainly benefit if the one-child policy comes to a close,” said Mr Sung.
