Officials in a Chinese village that has seen months of unrest have been taken hostage in a dispute over land rights.
The residents took the village governor and a dozen officials hostage as part of a protest on Monday after the arrest of one of the leaders of a series of protests in the village of Wukan. They were later released.
The villagers returned to the streets on Tuesday as 2,000 demanded the release of Zhuang Liehong, who had organised petitions against an alleged seizure of land by local officials.
