Boodles, the upmarket jeweller, is opening its first outlet in Asia, in what could be a prelude to further expansion in the region.
The family run company, which was founded more than 200 years ago, has opened a concession in the Lane Crawford luxury department store in Hong Kong, its first move outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Michael Wainwright, managing director, whose great great grandfather purchased the business at the start of the last century, said the expansion was a dry run for further Asian outlets. “What we are doing now is a bit of a feasibility study” he said.
