Microsoft’s smartphone operating system could be one of the big beneficiaries of Google’s plan to buy Motorola Mobility, Nokia claimed on Monday.
The assertion by the struggling Finnish handset maker, which unveiled a partnership with Microsoft in February, was supported by some analysts, who said handset makers using Google’s Android smartphone operating system may feel less inclined to do so after the technology group’s proposed purchase of Motorola Mobility.
However, other analysts said manufacturers that use Android in their smartphones, such as Samsung, would benefit from Google’s planned acquisition.
