China’s consumer price inflation accelerated to its fastest pace in three years in June, propelled by soaring food prices.
China’s consumer price index rose 6.4 per cent from a year earlier in June, a marked acceleration from May’s 5.5 per cent increase, government data showed Saturday.
Politically sensitive food prices rose 14.4 per cent in June, compared with an 11.7 per cent increase in May. Core non-food inflation increased last month by its fastest annual pace in at least five years.
