Nokia's chief executive yesterday demanded that speculation about his future be brought to an end because it was damaging the world's largest mobile phone maker.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo was unable to say whether he would continue as chief executive of the Finnish group following reports that Jorma Ollila, Nokia's chairman, has been looking for a replacement.
Pressure has been building on Mr Kallasvuo amid investor unrest that Nokia has lost ground to Apple, Google and other rivals in the fast-growing smartphone market.
