First Eastern will invest £495,000 ($684,000), and Evolution Group will put in £405,000 into Evolution Securities China, which currently has offices in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The combined business will focus on advising Chinese businesses that want to access the UK capital markets and look for possible merger and acquisition targets in Europe.
“There is renewed demand for old-style merchant banking which is focused on providing skills, ideas and a network of relationships,” said Victor Chu, chairman of First Eastern.
