Hong Kong’s stock market operator yesterday bowed to pressure from business leaders by agreeing to delay plans that would restrict directors’ freedom to trade shares in their companies.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing said it would postpone plans to extend from January 1 to April 1 the “blackout” period during which directors are banned from trading their securities.
However, the operator has refused to withdraw the amendment completely.
