HK and Seoul act on China baby milk worries

China's tainted infant formula scandal yesterday spread beyond the country's borders as food safety officials in South Korea and Hong Kong said they would investigate or recall Chinese products.

The Chinese government, which is scrambling to reduce damage to the image of “Made in China”, announced more arrests in connection with the milk powder crisis, which claimed its fourth victim yesterday.

Hong Kong ordered the recall of dairy products including milk, ice-cream and yogurt made by Yili, one of China's biggest dairy groups and an official sponsor of the Beijing Olympics.
