US stocks enjoy gains as anxious investors await election results

Wall Street prepares for ‘a long night for volatility’ as global market mood remains febrile

US stocks ended Tuesday’s election day session with their strongest gains in six weeks as anxious investors awaited the results of a presidential race expected to impact markets around the world.
