Why don’t wine drinkers want what’s fashionable?

The tastes of producers and consumers are worlds apart

Recent surveys have delivered sobering news.

I think of myself as writing mainly for people who are sufficiently interested in wine to shop at independent wine stores rather than supermarkets.

When I track down and cite small wine merchants in obscure corners of the British Isles while making recommendations, I hope I am doing a service to both consumers and independent retailers in the fight against globalisation.
