Johnson faces calls to resign after he admits attending ‘bring your own booze’ event

UK prime minister offers partial apology, saying he believed lockdown gathering to be work related

Boris Johnson faced calls to resign from furious MPs after admitting that he attended a Downing Street “bring your own booze” gathering during the coronavirus lockdown in May 2020.

Labour party leader Sir Keir Starmer called on Johnson to resign, saying he was “a man of no shame”. “While the country was in lockdown he was hosting boozy parties,” he added.
