North Korea has blasted South Korea’s foreign minister over recent remarks that cast doubt over Pyongyang’s claim of no coronavirus infections in the isolated country.
Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, warned on Wednesday that Kang Kyung-wha would “pay dearly” for her remarks and that already strained inter-Korean relations could get worse, the North’s official KCNA news agency said on Wednesday.
Ms Kang told a forum in Bahrain last week that North Korea has not responded to Seoul’s calls for cross-border cooperation to fight the pandemic, adding that it was “hard to believe” that North Korea had no coronavirus cases.
