The loss of corporate influence on energy policy is dangerous

The European Commission will soon produce the details of a new green deal designed to reduce emissions. In the US, climate change will be a key issue in November’s presidential election. Across the world, energy policy is in the foreground of public policy debate. 

But there is a missing voice at the table. Business — the energy companies that produce, process and sell the energy we use — is largely excluded from the policymaking process.
