A poor Chinese county downriver from the city at the centre of the coronavirus epidemic has had transport links severed by its neighbours as concerns grow about the extent of official mismanagement of the deadly outbreak.
Global health experts have criticised the slow response to the outbreak in Wuhan, the city where the coronavirus was first discovered late last year but only widely reported last month as the number of cases surged.
Now Poyang county, a small, rural part of Jiangxi province down the Yangtze river from Wuhan, has grabbed the attention of regional officials and social media users as a potential site of another clumsily managed outbreak.
