Me, myself and A.I. — should robots look like us?

In Berkeley, California, little robots have been trundling along the city streets for the past year or so, delivering food to students. Most who see the wheeled boxes let them pass peacefully by or stop to take a photo.

A few, however, cannot resist the urge to touch them. Some nudge them off the pavement. Others kick at them.

Delivery robots are all the rage in Silicon Valley. At least nine companies operate in the Bay Area alone and more are expected.
