Donald Trump said he would be “very disappointed” if North Korea was rebuilding a rocket launch facility, following reports that the regime was undertaking such activity at a site that had been partly destroyed last year.
According to three sets of satellite imagery, North Korea appears to be rebuilding Tongchang-ri, a rocket launch facility at Sohae near the border with China that was partly destroyed after Mr Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un held a landmark first summit in Singapore in June last year.
The emergence of the images came days after Mr Trump and Mr Kim held a second summit in Hanoi that ended in failure after the US refused to accept a North Korean proposal to destroy most of its facilities at Yongbyon — its main nuclear complex — in return for easing the most crippling economic sanctions.
