Kim Jong Un arrives in Vietnam ahead of summit with Donald Trump

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Vietnam on Tuesday morning after a 4,500km rail journey from Pyongyang through China, ahead of a summit with US President Donald Trump later in the week.

The North Korean leader exited the specially outfitted train that carried him to Vietnam’s Dong Dang border station and entered a black Mercedes saloon. The car was surrounded by black-suited and tied North Korean bodyguards, and took him on to Hanoi.

Vietnam closed the highway leading some 170km from the border to the capital ahead of his arrival.
