The US indicted 10 Chinese intelligence officers and co-conspirators on Tuesday for an alleged hacking spree that targeted American and European aircraft engine technology.
The charges were the latest attempt by the US Department of Justice to crack down on alleged economic espionage by China as a trade war between the two countries shows little sign of ending soon.
Earlier this month, a Chinese spy was extradited from Belgium to the US to face charges of attempting to steal trade secrets relating to aircraft engines. In September, a Chinese-born US army reservist was arrested for allegedly helping China’s intelligence agency recruit agents in the US.
