A Chinese intelligence agent has been charged by US authorities for allegedly attempting to steal trade secrets from multiple US aviation and aerospace companies, including a subsidiary of General Electric.
The justice department said on Wednesday that Yanjun Xu, a Chinese Ministry of State Security operative, was arrested in Belgium on April 1 and extradited to the US on Tuesday to face the indictment filed in Ohio federal court.
Mr Xu has been charged with conspiring to commit economic espionage and stealing trade secrets from multiple US aviation and aerospace companies, the DoJ said.
