The race to be US President Donald Trump’s nominee to chair the Federal Reserve is coming close to the finish line.
Mr Trump said on Friday that he will decide who his pick will be in the next three weeks, according to a White House pool report. Earlier on Friday, a White House official confirmed that the president had met with former Fed governor Kevin Warsh to discuss the position, which will be vacant when current chair Janet Yellen’s term expires in 2018.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that Jerome Powell, a current Fed governor, had been interviewed by the White House for the job.
