North Korea has launched an unidentified missile eastward over Japan and into the Pacific Ocean, according to multiple reports, raising tensions yet again on the Korean peninsula.
Yonhap News Agency and Reuters reported the launch, citing South Korea military sources.
NHK, the Japanese public television station, said the missile flew over Hokkaido, the northernmost island in Japan over which North Korea flew a medium-range missile last month. The South Korean military said it was analysing the launch, while the Pentagon did not have any immediate information.
