North Korea would cross a “red line” if it completed development of a nuclear-equipped long-range missile, said South Korean President Moon Jae-in, in comments that raised eyebrows among experts given the prospect appears imminent.
“North Korea is approaching the critical point, a ‘red line’,” Mr Moon said on Thursday. “If North Korea completes an intercontinental ballistic missile and weaponises it with a nuclear warhead, I will consider that a red line.”
However, he did not expand on what the consequences might be of Pyongyang crossing the line, and reiterated his belief that “there will be no war again on the Korean peninsula”.
